PE wax - heat-stable, chemically resistant and lowly soluble substance

by Sagar Chauhan Digital Marketing Analyst
Do you know a highly useful material work as a dispersant, mould release agent, and modifier for plastic? Polyethylene (PE) wax offers numerous benefits. For these reasons, the product is growing in popularity at a fantastic pace.
Properties of PE Wax
PE wax is originated from ethylene through a method called polymerization. PE wax manufacturers alter the polymerization process to get a product with the desired qualities. However, specific fundamental properties of the material are common for all PE wax.

As an utterly saturated ethylene homopolymer, it is straight and crystalline. That is why this element attains applications such as blends, plastic additives and rubber manufacture.

Features of Polyethylene PE Wax

It is highly resistant to chemical attacks, has unmatched temperature stability and is very stretchy in formulating applications.

Characteristics of PE wax:

High softening point
High melting point
Excellent thermal stability
High chemical resistance
Highly compatible with wax varieties
Perfect lubrication
Perfect head resistance

Polyethylene Wax Uses

PE wax market include
o plastic additives,
o candles,
o cosmetics and
o rubber
o Others are packaging, lubricants, wood and coatings

Varieties of PE Wax

The emulsifiable range is predominantly vital in the textile industry. It useful in paper coating, leather auxiliaries, crayons and cosmetics.
The non-emulsifiable variety is mostly available in the printing ink, pigment concentrates and paints.

Types of PE Wax

Low-density Polyethylene (LDPE) - This is very supple material featuring unique flow properties that make it particularly suitable for plastic film applications such as shopping bags or grocery bags. Moreover, there are companies offering products like PVC lubricants or LDPE that has high elasticity but low tensile strength which is quite evident in the real world.

Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) - As the name itself suggests, it is very similar to LDPE with an added advantage that the properties can be easily altered by simply adjusting the formula constituents. The production method for LLDPE is usually less energy-intensive than LDPE.

High-density Polyethylene (HDPE) - This is a robust and high density, moderately stiff plastic with a highly crystalline structure. In addition to this, many polyethylene wax manufacturers make use of this product as plastic for milk cartons, laundry, detergent, garbage bins and cutting boards.

Ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene- This is an extremely dense version of polyethylene and even carries an order of greater magnitude than HDPE. This product is frequently used in high-performance equipment like bulletproof vests.

Useful in the textile industry

In the textile sector, PE wax finds the strong application.

Emulsions made from this wax offer durable softening. However, it resist acids and other chemicals, the emulsions made are friendly to the fabric - with no staining of materials, no colour change and no chlorine withholding.

In the coating industry

The coating industry is using waxes from a very long time. The importance of wax is it adds water-repellence, better slip, and mark resistance among other features. When used correctly, polyethylene wax introduces the following:
o Anti-sagging
o Anti-settling
o Abrasion resistance
o Marking resistance
o Mar resistance

The features of leading PE wax manufacturers and suppliers are
o Equipped with a state of art technology
o headed by entrepreneurs, technocrats and quality conscious personalities
o supported by the trained technical team for assistance
o customised formulation of products
