Orlando Holidays Take You to the Most Spectacular Places

by Daisy Wilkinson Travel Guides

Known by several nicknames, such as 'The City Beautiful' and the 'Theme Park Capital of the World', Orlando is one of the leading cities in the United States in America for having loads of fun and entertainment. It is home to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, and several other magnificent theme parks where you and your entire family can have the right doses of thrills. When you move away from the theme parks to explore other places in the city, you'll get to witness some beautiful tree-lined neighbourhoods, fascinating gardens, and intriguing museums.

You'll have to book your Orlando holidays well in advance if you plan to visit during winter between December and February. As the theme parks stop admitting visitors after they reach their capacity, you must arrive early at these places. The best time to visit this charming American city is the spring season from March to May. This is the time when the climate in this city is extremely pleasant and the hotels would be willing to provide attractive discounts on their room rates. Summer is the peak season in this part of the world with many families visiting the theme parks and the weather is hot with high levels of humidity. Autumn is also a good time to get discounted airfares and hotel stays.

While holidaying in this city, you'll get to explore its world-famous theme parks. The most renowned among them is Walt Disney World, which has been entertaining its visitors for many years. Another theme park worth exploring is Universal Studios Florida. It is a perfect combination of a working film studio and a theme park, designed in consultation with the world-famous director and producer, Steven Spielberg. Upon visiting SeaWorld, you'll get to witness some massive aquariums and get closer to the dolphins, sea lions, and penguins. Don't forget to visit Typhoon Lagoon, which is the biggest and most popular of all water parks in Orlando.

A day trip to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex would give you the chance to see one of the best-known operation centres of NASA. It is located an hour's drive away from Orlando. While exploring this complex, you'll get to witness the 'Heroes and Legends' exhibits that give some interesting details about the lives and careers of people who were behind the success of the space program. You can also explore the Astronaut Hall of Fame and Rocket Garden while at the visitor complex. Other attractions at this place include an IMAX theatre and the shuttle launch experience.

The Orlando Science Centre is also an excellent place to visit while you're in this American city for your holidays. It is a private science museum intended to promote public understanding of science and provide them with opportunities to learn more about various branches of science. It was an anthropology museum for about ten years when it was incorporated as Central Florida Museum in 1955. The name of the museum was changed to its present name in 1984. Besides a wide range of exhibits, the museum hosts travelling exhibits and also has two movie theatres for laser light shows and movie screenings.
