Looking for a Roadtrip? Best Places to Visit from Elwood

by Roselands Auto Lakemba Mechanic

If you have been working day after day, month after month, it may be time to break out of the monotony of your daily routine and take off on an adventure. Human beings weren’t meant to do the same humdrum tasks day after day, and be chained to a desk when there is a whole world to explore. To feel fully alive, you need to add excitement to your life again. A roadtrip is the perfect way to break out of your routine and satisfy the human longing for discovery and adventure.

There are several great places to visit from Elwood. Before you pack up your car or truck and head out on your trip, you’ll want to make sure your vehicle is ready for the open road. The best way to do this is to make an appointment with your Earlwood mechanic so they can inspect and service your car before you go. They will change your oil if needed, take a look at the major systems in your vehicle and top off all the fluid levels. Your Earlwood mechanic can also take care of any preventive maintenance that is due.

So now the car is checked and the bags are packed, where do you go? We’ve got some suggestions!

The Twelve Apostles

If you love magnificent vistas where the ocean meets the shore, head for the amazing Twelve Apostle rock stacks that rise up along the Southern Ocean along Victoria’s beautiful coastline. Some 10 to 20 million years ago, the Wild Ocean and strong winds began eroding the limestone cliffs of the mainland.

The erosion formed caves in the cliffs, and the caves in turn became arches. When the arches later collapsed, they created rock stacks that tower up to 45 metres tall along the shoreline.

Wangaratta

When you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, take a trip to the rural town of Wangaratta. You’ll find beautiful expanses of nature, wonderful hikes and there are even two rivers in the Central Business District.

There is also the tallest single drop waterfall in Victoria, and you can even go treasure hunting when you pan for gold there.

Peterborough

If you find yourself yearning for beautiful views and an idyllic peacefulness, head to the holiday town of Peterborough in Victoria. It’s a tiny village on the coast, and is located on the western side of the Curdies River estuary.

There are a variety of camping grounds and caravan parks in Peterborough. You’ll enjoy the sandhills and small beaches, and the nearby Port Campbell National Park.
