Filipino viewers are not merely limited to just a handful of shows when it comes to watching Philippine television. There are a plethora of genres to choose from, including lifestyle, sports, and cartoons. A popular news-magazine program hosted by Tonipet Gaba, Pop Talk, delivers frank reviews of various topics. The show also features three guest panels to discuss various issues. Here are some of our favorites.

Ang Probinsyano

It is a popular Pinoy teleserye, Ang Probinsyano, that follows the adventures of closed homosexual police officer Ricardo Dalisay, a successful businessman who was formerly separated from his twin brother. During the course of the show, Ricardo learns about his biological family and struggles to bring justice to his brother's killer. In the process, he encounters a host of obstacles as he tries to find the truth behind the murder of his brother. Throughout the series, Ricardo is forced to confront a rebel group, called Pulang Araw, which is headed by the drug lord and human-trafficking syndicate leader.

Ang Probinsyano has been airing on Kapamilya Channel since June 2020 and is available to stream online. It is an ongoing crime drama and features four distinct narrative arcs. The first three seasons revolved around the death of Cardo's brother Ador. Later, in the fourth season, Vendetta and Cardo uncover a criminal empire that involves the Tuazons.

i-Witness

i-Witness Philippines has garnered numerous awards and accolades. The award-winning program pioneered the Philippine documentary genre. Its tagline is "epic discoveries." In short, the show features stories that are bold and engrossing. Here are some of the stories that have earned the award. Let's explore these stories further. In addition to its prestigious awards, I-Witness also aims to educate viewers about the importance of public broadcasting in preserving and promoting the Philippines' cultural heritage.

The Philippines' first George Foster Peabody Award was given to I-Witness in its first year of production. The program has since won another Peabody, this time for Kara David's "Ambulansyang de Paa." Despite the controversy, I-Witness continues to produce groundbreaking documentaries that are well worth watching. This list is a great testament to the quality of the Philippine media.

Love Thy Woman

This new drama series premiered in the Philippines on February 10, 2020, replacing the popular 'Kadenang Ginto' on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold afternoon block. It stars Christopher de Leon, Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Eula Valdez, and Sunshine Cruz. The drama explores the duplicitous polarity of love and betrayal in the Filipino-Chinese community.

The show's future was questioned after one of its cast members tested positive for COVID-19. Because of the aforementioned reasons, ABS-CBN had to temporarily cancel the show and place select cast members under self-quarantine. The National Telecommunications Commission, however, overruled ABS-CBN's decision to temporarily halt the show's airing. However, the show will be back on June 15, 2020, on Kapamilya Channel.

Anna Liza

In the year 2013, there were already a handful of deaths of Anna Liza cast members on Philippine television shows. The show was created by director Jojo Pangilinan, whose work spanned several genres, including family dramas. However, she declined the title role for Flor de Luna because of scheduling conflicts with school and acting. Despite her absence from the show, Vega did make several appearances on television.

The teleserye based on the popular Cebu radio drama of the 1970s, Anna Liza was a huge hit when it debuted on GMA Network. Directed by Gil C. Soriano, the show was a huge hit, garnering the attention of thousands of Filipinos. Though she was the main character, she had a rival in the RPN soap Flordeluna. Despite their rivalry onscreen, the two actresses were still good friends off-screen.
