Kicking off 2020 with the founder of The Brew Story, Manasi. Community health educator by day, Master brewer of tea’s also by day; Manasi combines her knowledge in health with her holistic focus on wellbeing to create delicious Tea’s for the soul. Take a read to learn a little more about how The Brew Story is pushing boundaries in the beverage industry.

What made you start your own business? Have you always had that Girl Boss Hustle? Or was it something that you grew into?

I always wanted to be a business woman. I have done things that I was ‘supposed to do’ and I am now doing things that I love to do.

I come from health background. I do have a day job in community sector, working with some outstanding women and to help other amazing women out there. My job feeds my soul.

Business on other hand is my creative imagination and passion which has turned into reality. It is a un-ending roller coaster ride of learnings and experiences that I thoroughly enjoy.

What makes The Brew Story products different from similar products that are on the market?

I come from Indian heritage and The Brew Story products are designed using age old recipes passed down from generations of women who have ruled the Indian kitchens. Our products not only focus on its delicious taste but also the health benefits of each and every ingredients added to it.

We use ancient Indian medicine called Ayurveda which uses food as medicine, to design our products. Our products are 100% natural, gluten free, vegan, sugar free and non-GMO.

Our range consists of authentic Indian Kadak (strong) Chai and a unique speciality latte blend called Spiced Almond Latte (it is a delicious and healthy caffeine free blend of nuts and beneficial spices including turmeric, saffron and rose petals; which can be added-in to create healthy desserts).

The Brew Story products are a beautiful intersection of my health background/experience, my cultural heritage, focus on health & wellbeing, and an mindful approach towards the social & environmental impact of how we consume our food products.

As well as making delicious tea’s you are also a Health Educator – Did this influence your business idea ?

Absolutely. My formal qualification in Medicine and Psychological Counselling, has a great influence on how I design and market The Brew Story products. My focus is on holistic well being of the body, mind and soul.

Wellbeing is made up of physical health, mental stimulation, emotional nurture and spiritual nourishment. So in order to feel at our very best we need a more rounded approach.

As a Mindfulness practitioner myself, I believe that however one defines their own wellbeing, one should be able to attain it.

The Brew Story products are designed to take a person on that fulfilling journey, a mindful sip at a time.

What was your dream job as a kid and why?

Hahaha! That is a million dollar question! I still don’t have an answer to that. I think I am one of those people who want to do many things in life (if not all!).
My current life, as it stands is reflection of my restless personality and hyperactive brain. I do multiple things that I truly love and I want to do even more. A common thread though, in all the work or jobs that I have done so far (and will do in the future) is primarily to help others to be a better version of themselves. I suppose that is what keeps me happy and fulfilled.
