Is calcium carbonate filler made from the base plastic LLDPE?

by Tran Hoa Marketing

Calcium carbonate filler made from LLDPE (polyethylene) is an organic compound with a simple structure. Nowadays, this material is widely used in the world and depended on the different density that is divided into high, medium and low density. So what are the physical characteristics of calcium carbonate filler from LLDPE? What are their advantages and disadvantages in plastic industry?

Calcium carbonate filler has the same physical properties as LLDPE

With different densities calcium carbonate filler that has different properties: At a low density, the properties of material are soft, waxy and slightly slippery. But at a high density, it is hard and strong mechanical toxicity. Therefore, people often create some devices that is capable of insulating with high frequencies such as high voltage, television, ... to protect everyone safely. In order to distinguish between low density and high density, it is often stained with calcium carbonate filler that has LLDPE. If it is still transparent, that is low density, another is density high.

Calcium carbonate filler is from LLDPE that not dissolve in water because of its poor water absorption ability. But if you combine with some solvents such as toluene and acetic acid ... over 70 degrees Celsius, the new material can be dissolved a little (not dissolve completely in water). You should use a small amount and expose it to temperatures of 150 - 400 degrees Celsius, the ability to absorb water is a little. Therefore, it will not be moist, but it has good thermal insulation.

What are advantages and disadvantages of calcium carbonate filler?

First of all, we would like to share the advantages of calcium carbonate filler: alkaline acid resistance, good organic solvents, good insulation properties. When at a low temperature, the certain ductility does not change. The tensile strength is lower than other materials but the strong puncture is better than others. In thin film manufacturing industry, the cracking resistance is always paid attention, so if you know how to use of calcium carbonate filler containing LLDPE is no longer trouble.

For the disadvantages, it has a poor air release, easy distortion and aging. It’s easy to crack and scratch because of low surface hardness. Calcium carbonate filler is from LLDPE that difficult to print because you have to discharge from above the surface and you absolutely do not plated, this will make the surface not smooth.
