Magnesium aluminide precipitates formed in the weld heat-affected zones (HAZs) due to the weld heat corrode in salty roads or marine environments. The welding processes were very expensive, because there was much distortion of the welded structure and unreliable weld quality especially at weld starts and ends. The welded structures also experienced much loss of strength due to the weld heat relieving and softening the cold worked material strength in the HAZs. ISWL solved all these issues related to Seam welded aluminum panels.

Their Focused-Melt TM Resistance Welding (FMRW) Technologies enabled extra high strength aluminum welding of heated aluminum alloys with structural weld strengths 50 to 100% higher than is commonly possible, resistance spot welding of thick and thick-thin combinations of aluminum alloys not commonly considered weld able, Welding (and not soldering) of stranded wire aluminum cables to similar and dissimilar material connectors through innovative temperature profile controls during welding.
