by Jackson Clark SEO Executive Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was established in 1985. This university offers many courses for distance education. The university is the largest in the world with respect to population as it has over 4 million students. The university consists of 21 schools of studies which offer around 228 programmers. The university has a faculty strength of around 810 and an academic staff of around 574 distributed among the headquarters and the other regional centers.

The university was set up to provide education to all sections through the wide range of courses and programmers , also providing various distance education courses to those who cannot afford to move in-order to finish their education. The main objective of the university is to impart knowledge and develop professionals at all levels of society thereby signifying the value of knowledge in the present world. Online Admissions

The University provides online admission facilities for all of its distance education programmers namely bachelor,certificate,diploma,master,post-graduate. The availability of the course can be checked before applying and all the detailed instructions are provided clearly on their admissions. All of the formalities of the admission process can be handled online right from the application to the fee payment.

Ignou Examinations

The examinations take place at multiple venues throughout the country and there are many centers to accommodate the great student strength. This year the IGNOU hall tickets were released online on May 18th which could be downloaded by the candidate from the IGNOU student corner by entering their 9-digit enrollment number. The exams were scheduled to start on 1st June 2015 and are still in progress. The last exam is scheduled for 27th of this Month. The IGNOU Results are supposed to be released in the results tab under the Students’ Corner Menu. The results would be only after, at least 45 days from the day of the last exam. A total strength of 4.85 lakh students have written this year’s exam.
