Impact of Covid-19 on Australia Immigrations
by XIPHIAS IMMIGRATION migration executiveCovid-19 has brought the economy of the
world to a standstill point. Australia has brought in a few stances to help
them fight the impact of COVID-19 in the country. However, in the recent times,
there are few changes that have been brought about to reduce the impact of
Covid-19 on the immigrations. Australia still is not allowing temporary
visitors to visit the country irrespective of the purpose of the visitor.
XIPHIAS Immigration being one of the best immigration consultants
in India provides best solutions possible for relocation.
Who
can travel and who can’t? –
There is a complete ban on travel of
non-permanent residents and non-citizens of Australia entering the country. This
includes student visa holders, graduate visa holders, business visa holders,
training visa holders, working holiday visa holders, employer sponsored visa
and bridging visas. However, the temporary visa holders, currently in Australia
can stay back in the country or can travel back to their country of origin.
Visa
Processing –
The current hold on travel will not impact
the visa processing. All those applications currently being handled by The
Department of Home affairs shall continue to be so. The department is granting
visas currently and the expectant immigrants should continue to submit their
documents. This is true for any of the Australian
Immigration Services pertaining to permanent residency there.
Independent
Skilled Immigration Program-
Australia
Subclass 189 program
continues to be one of the most interesting ways of relocating to Australia as
this program has been designed to help the long term human resources needs of
Australia. Thus this program will not be impacted by the current COVID-19. The
program allows the skilled independent immigrants to live, work and study in
any part of the world.
Employer Sponsored or Nomination Program-
Subclass 190
visa is for all those skilled professionals who intend to relocate to
Australia and have been able to procure a nomination from the state or an
Australian based employer. There is no restriction on this program during the
current period. The aspirants can proceed to apply for this program as would be
required.
Skilled Regional Provisional Program –
This program is designed to help the
immigrants who are looking to live and work in regional Australia. As the
immigrant will be receiving Permanent Residency under this category, the program
will not be affected by the COVID-19 restrictions. The 491
VISA program does not require high scoring for the profile. However,
the immigrant will have to work in the area for an agreed number of years.
For all the skilled immigrants under any
pathway, Australian Immigrations sanctions them Permanent residency in the
country. The successful immigrant will become sponsors for all those friends
and relatives of theirs who are qualified to move to the country.
The aspirants will have to submit their
application into the skill select portal where all the profiles for visa
processing will be stored. The applicant can make changes to his or her profile
as required. However, the applicant should provide the right documents to
support the application and the changes invoked further. The profile would stay
in the portal for a period of 2 years of time. Within this time, if the
applicant receives his or her invitation for applying for Australian PR and the
same is accepted, the profile will be removed from the portal. Two such
invitations will be sent to the applicant and if none of them are accepted by
the applicant, the profile will be removed from the portal for good.
Although not mandatory, it would be nice if
the aspirant approaches an immigration firm which is registered
with the Migrations Agents Registration
Authority (MARA). As such immigration agents will be proficient in
their approach to ensure the migration is a success.
