How to Use Spotify Connect to Listen to Music on Other Devices

Want to listen to your favorite track out loud on your wireless speaker? Use Spotify Connect. Nowadays, Spotify is one of the most famous music streaming services. It offers thousands of the songs from the classics to the latest through its app and website. With it, you can stream music on any of your device, including your car and other sound systems. Sometimes you will want to play music on your home audio system, PC or on your TV. Spotify Connect enables you to do the same; you just need its latest app on your devices.

Here is how to use Spotify Connect to listen to music on other devices.

Before you go ahead, make sure you have,

1.    An account on Spotify.

2.    Spotify compatible devices.

3.    A Wi-Fi connection to connect all the devices to it.

4.    Latest Spotify app on all the devices.  If you’re not sure about the app you have, then check for updates and download the recent version.

Once all your devices are ready, you can proceed to the set up process. Below instructions will guide you to use Spotify Connect app on Smartphones and tablets.

How to use Spotify Connect on Smartphone and tablets

To play music on Spotify compatible speaker or sound system with iOS or Android smartphone or tablet, use below instructions.

1.    Launch your ‘Spotify’ app. Before this, ensure that the app you’ve installed is up to date.

2.    Now, browse the song you’d like to hear and start playing it.

3.    Then, go to ‘Devices Available’ from the bottom of the screen. You should now see the available devices on your screen.

4.    Find the speaker or sound system in the “Device Available” on which you want to play music and select it.

Doing so will start playing the song on your selected device and take you back to the play screen. The device name you’re connected with will also display at the bottom of the play screen.

How to use Spotify Connect on Windows and Mac computers/Laptops

If you want to listen to Spotify music on your other devices such as on your car or home audio system through your computer or laptop, use below instructions.

1.    Start your PC or laptop and launch ‘Spotify.’

2.    Now, browse the song you’d like to hear and start playing it.

3.    Then, go to ‘Connect to a Device’ section from the bottom right side of the screen. You should now see a popup with the available devices on your screen.

4.    Find the speaker or sound system on which you want to play music in the “Connect to a Device” pop up and select it.

Doing so will start playing the song on your selected device, you’ll also see a green bar with a message: Listening on [Your Device Name] at the bottom right corner of the Spotify window.

How to use Spotify Connect on Spotify Web Player

If you don’t have the Spotify app installed on your device or your device doesn’t support it, you can always listen to Spotify through any browser. As well as, it also supports Spotify Connect that you can use to play music on your other devices. Here is how.

1.    Launch any compatible browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, or Opera.

2.    Go to ‘Spotify’ and open your account, if required.

3.    Now, search the song you’d like to hear and start playing it.

4.    Once your song start playing, click on ‘Connect to a Device’ at the bottom right side of the screen. You should now see a popup with the available devices on your screen.

5.    Find the speaker or sound system on which you want to play music in the “Connect to a Device” pop up and select it.

Doing so will start playing the song on your other device. You can confirm this by checking the message: Listening on [Your Device Name] at the bottom right corner of the Spotify window.
