Ghee is also known as clarified butter as it’s extremely shelf-stable. Here are a few tips for storing ghee.

  1. Ghee is sensitive to moisture and so you should make sure that the ghee jar is away from any kind of moisture. Experts recommend using a clean and dry spoon to take out ghee. Dipping your finger in the jar is also not recommended.

  2. Pure cow ghee is extremely shelf-stable and needs no refrigeration support. However, if you have purchased a bulk amount of ghee, try to preserve the excess amount in the refrigerator.

  3. Exposure to the sunlight is not recommended as it can reduce the shelf-life of ghee.
