How to Make a Bracelet with Glass Beads

by Tom C. Self Employed, Content Writer
Glass beads can be used in jewelry making to create beautiful and unique necklaces, bracelets and earrings. A simple glass bracelet is a good starting project for the novice jewelry maker. This article provides a step by step guide on how you can create your very own glass bead bracelet.
Supplies
You can start by gathering all of the supplies you will need for this jewelry making project. To keep things simple we will be using a clear elastic plastic thread to form the main part of the bracelet on which the beads will be threaded onto. This type of thread can be commonly purchased at most hobby craft stores, or from a specialist online retailer. It typically comes in a roll so that you can just cut off however much you need. You will also need scissors and the glass beads of your choosing. You can pick glass beads that are in your favourite colours, or that have a special pattern or design.
Thread
Wrap the plastic thread around your wrist loosely once, then double it up so that it is now twice as long as your wrist. Cut the thread at this spot.
Knot
Tie a large triple knot on one end of the thread. It may have to be made larger so that the beads don’t fall off.
Arrange the Beads
Arrange the beads in the order you would like them to go onto the bracelet. You can create a pattern by alternating the colour and style of the beads you use in a regular pattern. Alternatively you can put the colours ranging from light colours to dark colours to create a graded look.
Thread the Beads
Thread each of the beads onto the bracelet in the correct order.
Measure
Hold the end of the bracelet so that the beads don’t fall off and then wrap it around your wrist. The bracelet should fit comfortably on your wrist without being too tight or too loose. You may need to add or remove a few beads accordingly.
Finish
Tie a triple knot at the end of the beads, and then tie the two ends together in a triple knot.
