The arrival of the novel coronavirus has raised unprecedented challenges across the globe. In our joint effort to help flatten the curve of this pandemic, we are making some changes to our daily lives.

Physical distancing policies currently in place- while necessary for protecting public health-may lead to adverse physical and mental health outcomes and have already resulted in profound economic and social stress for millions.

In fact, businesses have also started to voice in support of physical distancing and using social distancing floor stickers. 

The sudden and impactful changes in our lives- both social and economic-can be catalysts for feelings of fear, anxiety, and stress. These feelings can really be exacerbated by sense of loneliness and isolation as we maintain social distancing, and are especially worrisome for the vulnerable population.

Physical Distancing Policies, Necessary For Individual And Businesses

Local and state government through the country have implemented measures for reducing social interaction and slow the spread of COVID-19.

Even as we are seeing some states begin to ease restriction, businesses are in no mood to relax. For that, they are using the social distancing stickers to encourage shoppers maintain physical distance while standing in queue or while shopping.

Now, the best thing about these stickers is that you can easily apply and remove as and when needed. 

Physical distancing policies vary in degrees to which they restrict the movements and interactions with each other. The least restrictive policies include business and school closures. However, closure is no longer needed since the floor decals and stickers prove to be very useful.

It clearly indicates and guides the people as to where they need to be to maintain a safe distance. While the stay at home policy is making people lonely, the use of stickers can actually help them get to back to normal maintaining the norms.

Temporary business and school closures were enforced to mitigate community spread of the virus. This also included limiting visitors to nursing homes, along with closing child care centers, schools, and colleges. 

It is not needed anymore since the social distancing floor stickers can encourage the people to maintain safety and carry on with their normal life.

How To Stay Connected And Avoid Social Isolation?

To overcome this pandemic, our collective response will require continued sacrifice and disruption that is likely to last much longer than any of us would hope.

  • Keep up social connections- reach out to those you love and keeping relationships strong. This is especially important for those with depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. Consider setting up virtual hangouts. Always follow the social distancing floor stickers, when going out.

  • Take a media break- when reading the news is making you anxious, opt for breaks. Consider checking the news just once or twice per day, and for a limited amount of time. 

  • Practice good self-care- eating healthy, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and breathe deeply. Sleep has a direct impact on the immune system, so set a regular time each night to wind down and get some rest.
