How to Fix QuickBooks Error Code C=272?

Errors can be annoying specifically when you are doing something important and have to stop because of an error. Error code C=272 appears when you run QuickBooks verify data utility or rebuild data utility in your system. 

 

Reasons for occurrence of error code C=272 are:

• Due to data damage in QuickBooks. 
• When QuickBooks tries to move reports or report like data. 
• When 1099 and W2 forms are printed. 
• When target ‘Bit-set’ for verifying or rebuilding utility is not in the anticipated range. 

How can error code C=272 be fixed?

 

Way 1: Disabling the window compatibility mode through the shortcut icon. 

• Go to QuickBooks shortcut icon and make a right click on it. 
• Click “compatibility” tab <<unmark checkbox “Run program in compatibility mode”.
• Click Ok<< Press cancel.

 

Way 2: Opening QuickBooks Sample Company file.

• In ‘No company open’ opened by pressing the Ctrl key, select the ‘Open sample file’. 
• If it displays with error then go to ‘Verifying and rebuilding QuickBooks company data’.
• Or else follow way 3 to fix this error.

 

Way 3: Disabling windows compatibility mode for qbw32.exe file. 

• Go to properties in QuickBooks and open ‘QB installation folder’ and click on find. 
• Go to QBW32.exe<< click ‘Properties<< Click compatibility. 
• Unmark “Run Program in compatibility”<< Click OK<<Click Cancel.
