How to Clean Your Macrame

by Joshua Silva Content Writer

Who doesn’t love decorating their homes with Macrame? Macrame instantly adds a soft rustic touch to any corner of your home. If you are a bohemian lover, we are convinced that every corner of your home will have a cute macrame hanger or planter

Macrame can be made in various designs and concepts, such as table runner, cushion covers, placemats, wall hangers, curtains, etc.. It’s easy to decorate macrame in your home, but do we know the right way to clean it?

We tend to be extra careful with our delicately handmade macrame as people aren’t aware of how to clean their macrame. Don’t worry, we’ve got the easiest and the best solution to clean your stained macrame. Pump a small amount of mild detergent onto the stain and let it stay on for about 5 minutes. Make sure the detergent doesn’t contain any bleach. Use a soft damp cloth and dab onto the stain bits to remove access dirt or marks. Lastly, keep the macrame under a running tap with cold water and rub the stain very gently.

It’s crucial to dry your macrame. Make sure to keep your macrame away from direct sunlight to avoid fading in color. Choose any area to dry ventilate allowing your macrame to cool or air dry for instant results.

As we can tell, macrame is just another low-maintenance product. Make sure small products are cleaned twice a week if the usage is frequent and bigger products only when stained.

Quick Hack

Fill a bottle with a little detergent, scented oil and cold water. Spray this hack every 2 weeks for a fresh smell and clean macrame!
