How to Choose the Best Gym Leotards for Girls?

by Elite Gymnastics Elite Gymnastics
An important part of gymnastics is the Gymnastics Leotard. It’s really easy to get bamboozled by the several different kinds of Girls Gymnastic Leotards.

Here’s your personal checklist to make sure that you get the best Gymnastics Leotard.

Make sure it fits right: You don’t want a Gymnastics Leotard that doesn’t fit well. Make sure that it is not too loose or too tight.

Purpose of the leotard: Whether you’re buying the leotard for a training session or a competition is also a major factor in which leotard is right for you.

• For Training: Choose a leotard that isn’t very tight. Make sure you have enough room to breathe. This leotard can be of any colour or pattern.

• For Competitions: You want a leotard that fits your skin like a glove. It should show off your muscle definition but not restrain your movements. The competition leotard needs to look as snazzy as possible.

Type of Sleeve:

• Sleeveless:

  Cons:

• Not preferred in competitions

• Three quarter length:

  Pros:

• Perfect for winter
• Can be worn in competitions

• Long Sleeve:

Pros:

• Usually worn in competitions
• Nice and warm in winter

 Cons:

• Sweat gets trapped
• Might get uncomfortable to wear

Back of the Leotard: There are many different options to choose from tank, key-hole, wide open and so on. The only thing that you have to keep in mind what type of undergarments are you going to be wearing.

Choice of Fabric: You can choose from metallic fabric, lycra, spandex or velour.Metallic fabric is very bright which is why many people choose to buy it but it can be quite uncomfortable as it does not stretch a lot. Lycra, on the other hand, stretches a whole lot more than metallic and are very comfortable to wear. The only con is that it does not hold a candle to the metallic leotards in competitions.  This is where Spandex comes to the rescue. It is a happy medium between Lycra and Metallic.

Measure yourself: Choosing the right leotard comes down to right measurements.

Check the manufacturer’s sizing chart: Different leotard manufacturers have a different sizing chart so be sure to check that out before making a purchase.

These are some of the basic things that need to kept in mind before buying Girls Gymnastic Leotards.
