  1. Sign in your Yahoo account.

  2. Open the messages/mails that you want to save.

  3. Select the email content which you want to save

  4. Open any of the program-MS Word, WordPad or Notepad and create a new file.

  5. On the newly created file paste the content copied from Yahoo account.

  6. Save the file.

  1. Sign in your Yahoo account.

  2. Open the messages/mails that have attachment(s) in it.

  3. Click Download attachments or Download all to download them.

  4. Create a new folder.

  5. Save the downloaded attachments in the newly created folder.

Limitations of Manual Methods

  • Saving each and every email is a very tedious task if they are large in number.

  • They will not be saved in an email format.

  • Lot of time will be consumed while searching these files.

Alternate Method:

There also exists an alternate method which can let you know how to backup Yahoo. You can employ third party tool to easily take backup of your mails and contacts. You can backup of emails from all the folders of an account. The tool also gives you the facility to save the backup of mails in different formats such as; PST, EML, MSG and MBOX.
