Lodge.
Wardens’
jewels
The
jewel used by the Junior Warden has the symbol of plumb, a tool used earlier by
the Stone Masons for checking the vertical surface’s alignment. The jewel used
by the Senior Warden has the symbol of the level, a tool used by the Stone
Masons for checking the horizontal surface’s alignment.
The Centenary Jewel
This jewel
is usually worn by the member who has qualified for it or has received
permission from the Grand Chapter to wear it. The Centenary jewel is worn to
the left of the Royal Arch jewel.
Past Principal Jewel
This jewel
is bestowed upon the Principal of a Lodge in recognition of his successful
journey as the Principal of a Lodge. There is no such regulation in Royal Arch
on how to wear this jewel but is worn to the left side of the Royal Arch jewel.
This jewel is not worn in the Craft Lodges.
Worshipful
Master’s jewel
Worshipful
Master is the highest post in any Lodge and the jewel for this post is the
right angle of a square. This jewel symbolizes virtue.
Past Master Jewel
This jewel
is given to a Past Master of the Lodge as recognition of his successful service
to the Lodge. These jewels are made according to the individual design of that
particular Lodge. They can be very subtle as well as very ornate in design. If
a brother has served as a Worshipful Master for at least once, it is common for
him to receive the Past Master jewel.
