How Do The Social Work Organizations Work For The Betterment Of A Society

A society is the amalgamation of people living under different circumstances. While some people are blessed with all the advantages, other people struggle for basic rights and necessities. The old age homes provide all the required facilities such as food, shelter and medications to the elderly. India has more than a thousand old age homes, a majority of which offers accommodation. States such as Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra and West Bengal have old age homes that are exceptional in terms of medical provisions such as ambulances, mobile healthcare systems and many more. Apart from the basic amenities like food, medication and shelter, the elders are provided with yoga classes to keep them fit and healthy. Also, there are telephones and other forms of communication that enables the elders to stay in touch with their families and loved ones. Some of the Old Age Homes also offer Day Care services which take care of the elders only during the day.

Child Protection

The increasing rates of poverty in India have given birth to child labour. There are children found in every nook and corner of the country ensnared in child labour. This has made the role and requirement of the non-governmental organization even more important. The NGOs work for the eradication of child labour and welfare of children those who are in need, offering them food, shelter, clothes and education.

Shelter home for animals

The shelter homes for animals strive to provide food and shelter to street animals or animals who can no longer be looked after by their owners. Apart from food and shelter, the animals are given all the necessary medications in order to improve their health conditions as well. The shelter homes also let these animals to be adopted by people who are eligible. Before adoption, the owners are given a playroom where they can interact with the animals they like. 

The Non Profit Organizations are, therefore, a blessing to the mankind. These organizations are highly democratic and are open to all who want to become a part of it and serve the society voluntarily. With their dedication and immense hard work for promoting education, health, abstention from violence and many more, these NGOs have brought about a major constructive change in the society.
