Goolam vahanvati is one of the most well known names in the indian legal system. For those who are not aware, he was a senior counsel who also served as the 13th attorney general of India. He enjoyed a great share of goodwill among his peers and also a generation of young lawyers. The first muslim to becom ethe senior most lawyer under the UPA rule, he influenced th epolitivcs of India.

Goolam Vahnavati has worked under eminent lawyers like Soli Sorabjee, Ashok desai and Ashok Sen. His career started at the Bombay High Court where he started working as an advocate. Thereafter he was appointed as the advocate general of Maharashtra in December 1990. During his tenure as the Advocate General of Maharashtra he dealt with a number of high profile cased like the Enron case as well as the Stock Market Scam.

Goolam Vahnvati has lived a life of hardships. He comes from a middle class family where he had to face a lot of financial hurdles while growing up. In Spite of being financially weak, he has managed to overcome these hurdles and achieve his goals. He went to college to study law at St Xaviers. He infcat began his law career much before he did a law degree. He started assisting his father hwo was also a lawyer. Because of his hard work and his focus he was able to acheive success quickly. He graduated from St Xavier’s college and got a degree in Law from Mumbai after that. He was able to clear all the exams that he appeared for. Infact his legal career started much before he became a lawyer when he started working as a junior to his father who was also a lawyer. 

He was quickly able to push the ranks of the legal ladder through his sheer dedication and hardwork. He was continuously under limelight due to his hard work and contribution to the legal corridors. He became a favourite with a lot of political figures. 

He further enjoyed a n extension to his position as the attorney general of India for another two years in 2012
