Goods and Bads of an HVAC Service Contracts?

by Stanley Thomas Freelance Blogger and Writer
The efficient HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) machine units are quite efficient at modulating indoor air. They bring to us warm air in winters, cool air during the summers, control the humidity, and also remove the unwanted dust particles and other undesired substances from the air we breathe indoors, thereby making it hygienic and healthy.

As HVACs are quite complicated electronically, they need to be serviced at regular time intervals. For that, you need a service contract, and there are a number of HVAC repair/maintenance service providers that offer you doorstep HVAC repair, service and maintenance services. But is there all good with the HVAC service plans? We bring to you the advantages and the disadvantages of them. But let us first start by knowing what an HVAC service contract is.

An HVAC service contract

The HVAC service contract is an agreement between the client and the service provider company. The basic plan includes the service and tuning of the HVAC unit at regular time intervals. The company checks the AC before the summers and the heating unit before winters so that you get modulated and comfortable indoor climate control. The plan includes more features and provisions with the extra bucks that you spend. For instance, it may include the emergency services, priority treatment, change of parts and other provisions depending on the features you opt for when you sign the service plan document.

The “Goods” of the HVAC service plan

There are a number of advantages of the HVAC service plans, and that is why they are so popular in the USA and in other parts of the world as well. Some of these include:

Lower energy consumption: Timely inspection and overhauling of the system ensure that your HVAC consumes the least of electricity.

Peace of mind: Regular service takes care of all the issues related to HVAC beforehand. Cleaning of the filters, change of parts and accessories and other schedules see to it that the HVAC always works fine, and there is never a surprise shutdown.

Affordable: Long term service plans are cheap. The company duly inspects and solves the problems year after year on a pre-agreed price. You pay a lot more when you ask for a repair service each time the HVAC breaks down.

Early detection of problems: The HVAC repair and service companies have expert engineers and techies and these knowledgeable and highly experienced professionals can easily diagnose the condition of the unit and detect the problems early on.

24/7 availability: Some companies offer 24/7 HVAC service in Gilbert to those who subscribe to their service plan. Hence you can get your HVAC repaired at any time of the day or night when you subscribe to a plan.

The “Bads” of the HVAC repair services

There are also certain disadvantages associated with the HVAC repair services. These include:

Costly in short term: You pay a lot more towards HVAC repair when you get it repaired via a plan, in the short term. You can hire a techie much cheaply and get your HVAC repaired instantaneously. In the long run, the service plans cost cheaper though.

No going back: You cannot go back on the agreement of the service plan. It is binding and holds good for its entire duration.

As you can see, there are more advantages/goods related to the HVAC service plans than disadvantages/bads. It is in your interest to hire a reputed and leading company and get best air modulation and comfort at all times of the year, at the least cost possible.
