by Bhanvi Kumari All in one business management software

With the increasing use of the internet and remote working, voice acting industry has migrated from the in-person recording studio to the World Wide Web. This is easier for both professional and beginner voice over talent to audition online and get a rewarding, exciting, and high-profile voice over jobs from the home.

Voice actors can now submit an audition online without getting into the voice over studio; get hired without meeting a client face to face. Launching your career in voice acting is more accessible than ever.

Submitting a voice over audition is important part for applying for voice over jobs. However, because you are now able to audition over online without, does not mean that voice acting is an all-around effortless experience.

To get success, you need to learn how to read a voice over script, rehearse before stepping in front of microphone, and compose a brief proposal that introduces you to the potential client.

How To Give An Online Audition For Voice Acting

After warming up, reread the directions, then reread notes and directions. Perform it in the same fashion that you recorded your demos.

If the audition is for certain duration, read to ensure that it meets the mark. If the length runs over or under, read the script faster or slower to fit within the parameters. Practice the script until you are comfortable with the flow and timing.

The time of day for recording can vary. Generally, your voice is best in the early morning (about an hour after waking). This means that the worst time to record is late in the evening. Depending on your signature voice, you might find that your voice is better at different times of day.

To keep your voice in shape throughout the day, stay hydrated. Drink room temperature water or weak tea. Avoid alcohol, caffeinated, and carbonated drinks before recording, as these dehydrate you.

If you are auditioning for cartoons and animation, technology companies, and for consumer brand TV commercials all has their own unique set of skills and standards, which is important to understand to be the most successful in voice over talent.

3 Important Things for Casting Call

The voiceover industry is expanding on a regular basis. Here we will discuss three of the most important things to lookout for on casting calls, how you can spot them and what to do.

1- Does the Project Contain These?

On a casting call, you should be provided the following information; role, rate, terms, casting specs and basic direction. If any element is missing, it wastes the time for all parties. If the voice over talent is not told what the client wants, guesses will be made, and those may not be right. If this information is missing, ask the source.

2- Is The Rate Clearly Defined?

Rates should always be clearly defined. If rate is not addressed before work begins, it could cause issues down the road and you may not get paid what you are worth. Ask about translation; plus, multiple spots should be priced individually.

3- Is Usage Stated?

How long will your work run because the larger the market, the more compensation is due. Make sure you are compensated enough for the whole world to hear it. There is a difference between local rates and worldwide rates. Look for the term “all media”.

To Sum It Up

If you receive a casting call and the rate is not included, ASK. You have the right to know. The only way you can be protected is to know the facts.
