Getting Emergency Dentistry is the Best Way to Prevent Any Damage

Any trauma to the mouth or any issue involving the teeth and supporting tissues that may cause bleeding to the gum and that is of high importance, may require immediate medical attention cover under a broad term, known as emergency dentistry.

An accident can happen at any time of the day or night. It is important to know what type of injuries need immediate emergency dentistry. So you can avoid unnecessary trips to the emergency room. Some dental injury may need immediate attention, while others can wait until normal business/OPD hours.

Don’t ignore injuries to your teeth and gum because emergency dentistry can be serious and treating dental emergency can be quick and is the best way to prevent any damage. So you can avoid any big and more expensive procedures.

Toothaches

In case your mouth is swollen, apply a cold compress outside of your mouth or cheek. Thoroughly rinse your mouth with warm water and using dental floss removes any unwanted stuck food. Go to the dentist as soon as possible.

Broken Teeth

Rinse any broken pieces of your teeth and save them. Rinse with Luke warm water and apply cotton gauze to that area until the bleeding stops. Apply cold compression technique outside of your mouth to keep away any swelling down or relieve pain.

Fallen-Out Tooth

Take the tooth, hold it by the crown and rinse it off with water if it is dirty. Do not remove any attached tissues fragments. Try to put back the tooth back in place. Never force it back into the socket, put the tooth in a small container of milk or water. A dentist can save the knocked out tooth within one hour of being knocked out. In all the cases, go to dentists as soon as possible.

Lost Crown

In case the crown falls off, make an appointment to get an Emergency Dentistry as soon as possible. Bring the crown with you. If possible, slide the crown back over the tooth. Coat the inner surface with over-the-counter dental cement, toothpaste adhesive.

Broken Braces Wires

In case your braces wire breaks or sticks out of a bracket or band and is pocking your tongue, or gum, try to push the wire into comfortable position using the eraser end of a pencil. If it is not possible for you to reposition the wire, cover the end with orthodontic wax, a piece of cotton until you get to your nearest dentist office.

Soft-tissue Injuries

Tongue, cheeks, gum, and lips are all the soft tissues; injuries to them can result in bleeding. In order to control bleeding, you need to rinse your mouth with a mild salt-water solution, use a moistened piece of gauze or tea bag to apply pressure and hold in place for 10-15 minutes.
