Friendship Over A Cup of Coffee

by Divya S. Content Writer

It was a Sunday morning. I woke up and wanted to have a good coffee in this bloomy morning but it was me all alone in the house. So, I went to the kitchen and made noodles for my breakfast. I did not make coffee for myself because I am very bad at making coffee or tea. As I was very fond of coffee I decided to go to a cafe near CP in the evening to have a cup of coffee which would refresh my mind and soul too.

In the afternoon, after finishing my work I watched a series on Netflix and ate lots of popcorn and nacho. After watching 2 episodes I dozed off. It was around 6 pm when I woke up and got ready to go to CP to have a cup of coffee and some pastries. It took me 45 minutes to reach there. I decided to go to Brioche Doreé; a cafe restaurants in CP. It was the only restaurant in CP which served French food. I was stunned by the ambiance of the restaurant when the first time I went there. I took a seat and sat down. I ordered Café Mocha and a Green Burst sandwich for myself as I was very hungry.

Waiting for the order, I was going through a magazine and suddenly, I heard a voice “Excuse me” from the table in front of me. There was a girl with long hair and a familiar voice. She had called the staff to know something related to the order. For a second I thought she was my college friend Sakshi, but I realized I was wrong when she turned back to call the staff again. I saw her face properly and got to know that she is not my friend. She resembled a lot like Sakshi. And I was surer that the girl in front of me was not my friend Sakshi when I did not see a mole on her right cheek.

My order was served and I clicked a picture of the sandwich and coffee as they were served in a very beautiful way.

I looked at the girl again and remembered my friendship with one of my close friends in college, Sakshi. She was my friend from day 1 of my college. We used to bunk classes, have lunch together and do dance rehearsals together. We made very good memories during our college times. I remember visiting her house for the first time. Her family was so good to me. Aunty made brownies for me and it was very well cooked and the taste was awesome. I kept on visiting more just to eat brownies made by aunty and she used to be very happy when I used to praise her for the brownies. Remembering this I called the staff and ordered a brownie.

After a while, the brownie was served and I ate it. The brownie of this café was also the best in taste.

I paid the bill and booked a cab to my house. The cab arrived after 4 minutes and I went back to my house. After I reached my house, I thought of calling my friend Sakshi and talking to her but I realized it was too late and did not call. I left a message for her on Whatsapp. My mother came into my room and wished me Goodnight. And I was off to sleep thinking about the best coffee I had in Brioche Doree remembering my good old days in college.
