by Jimmy O. Blogger

Para cords are known as parachute cords, and it was used in the world war. At that time people wanted a durable cable that would not budge in its strength when heavy loads are traveling. Cams Cords were manufactured but there are used in completely different adventures. Cams Cords are supposed to be lightweight, durable, and stretchable. The para cords could be reused when the troopers touched the ground for another use. There are military and non-military types of cords and military ones are hard to get because there are designed for different purposes.

Find out what are the types of military paracords.

There are various types of military para cords and the basic one is the type I para cords. Cams Cords says that it can take weight up to ninety-five pounds and have a stretchable tendency. It has sixteen outer sheath strands and one inside. It has one of the smallest diameters. The second type is type IA para cord and this can take up to hundred pounds. It is similar to the previous type but it doesn’t have an inner strand instead it is made up of nylon thread that makes it stronger. Type IIA is a better version of type IA and the inner core is removed. It has almost 36 strands in the sheath. Their various projects are made from it including bracelets and lanyards.

Type II paracord is one of the most complex ones and is used in the projects like key chains. Cams Cords says that it is visually demanding but it doesn’t function as strongly as the others. Type III paracord is one of the most demanding ones. It is also known as 550 para cords and it is mostly used in the suspension lines of the parachute. Type III is mostly out of stock because it is used the most. If you want a stronger version of the type 550 cord then you should go for a 750 cord. It is designed to drop heavy vehicles from a parachute and has different kinds of nylon strands attached to it.

When we talk about the marketing term of paracord, it is usually the mil-spec paracord that we are referring to. Cams Cords says that this type has all the similarities to type III but there are no official specifications on it. If you want a more specific type of paracord then you should go for the mil-style paracord. It is the same as the survivor’s cords and there are various colors available. It is one of the advanced types and easier to get in the market.

The last non-military para cord type is the commercial-spec paracord. Cams Cords says that this type has the least quality which makes it the least preferable. The commercial-spec cord is used for the aesthetically pleasing para cord but does not offer strength, durability, and guarantee. It is also cheap and gets away with specifications easily.
