Features & Uses of PE Wax

by Sagar Chauhan Digital Marketing Analyst
Non-oxidized Polyethylene Wax aka non-oxidized PE wax is a low molecular weight polymer. It is widely utilized for different purposes in the industry of manufacturing the plastic. Due to a lower polymer weight, it has the properties like that of a non-oxidized PE wax. It is formulated by the distillation for enhancing the properties of the product and to produce various types of PE wax.  Due to its properties, non-oxidized PE wax is widely used in the plastic industry for manufacturing the HDPE pipes and other durable stuff. Keep reading and know more about the non-oxidized PE wax.

The Features of PE Wax
Owing to its excellent features, the PE wax is used on a wider scale for enhancing the quality of the miscellaneous materials used in rubber processing, plastic additives, petroleum wax blends etc. The polyethylene wax is completely saturated homopolymers of ethylene and has a higher degree of the crystalline and linearity. The presence of crystalline in a higher amount enhances the hardness, lowers the solubility in solvents, and oil thickening capability.

Due to the controlled molecular weight and narrow polymer disparity, the polyethylene wax also provides diverse benefits like the:
·    High melting & softening point
·    Low viscosity
·    Thermal stability
·    High hardness level
·    Chemical resistant

The Uses of PE Wax
Polyethylene wax activates the polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS resins etc. Since it is added in the hydrocarbon waxes, the melting point for the materials is increased. PE wax is classified into two grades- emulsifiable & non-emulsifiable. It is widely utilized for textile polishing, cosmetics, paper coating, leather auxiliaries, adhesives, crayons, paints etc.

Since the PE wax emulsions are stable softeners, they do not leave a yellow tinge on the white fabric when printed or dyed. As said previously, the PE wax has a featherweight molecular formation, it is also used in the food packaging industry. The coating industry is a huge consumer of the PE wax for producing the plastic paints that are scratch resistant and repel water. Moreover, the paints containing the PE polymers do not allow dust particles to stick over.

On An Ending Note…
The PE wax or polyethylene wax, which is non-oxidized, is used for producing a variety of materials like paints, pipes, packaging, and different types of cosmetic products. This type of wax is used by different industries all over the world.
