Faridabad....Impressive in so Many Ways!

by Manish Kumar Marketing Head

The list of great cities of India generally includes the metropolitans/capitals or other big cities, and the rest are automatically considered as the less developed ones, especially in sectors of overall infrastructure.

But there is one such city which may seem to be belonging to the less developed lot, but now it has developed immensely. The city is Faridabad. It is the largest city of Haryana, which is growing fabulously in terms of the overall infrastructure of the city. The streets, the houses, the malls, the transportation system, these all speak brilliantly in support of the city.

One of the biggest highlights of the city is the Surajkund. Surajkund is basically a very beautiful man-made lake, built in the 10th century, having the Aravalli range in its backdrop, in the shape of a semi-circle. It was built by the king Suraj Pal, who belonged to the Tomar Dynasty. He got it built to show his immense dedication to the Sun Lord. The “Kund” which actually means a lake, has a beautiful view to it. To experience such a fine reservoir with a breathtaking view to it, there are some fine 3 star hotels in Faridabad. These 3-star hotels cater in such a great way to their guests that they make sure that they would definitely come back to these hotels.

Apart from the reservoir, the Surajkund area is actually famous for the annually held International Crafts Mela. This happens every year in the month of February. Nobody dares think of it as a little casual crafts fair. It is anything but small actually. Rather, it happens on a large scale. Craftsmen from round the country and globe, make it a huge hub. They display and sell their work. Some of the most authentic and brilliant work in in the genres of handicrafts, food, artifacts are found here. Every year “The Surajkund Mela” has a theme designated to it. The theme is generally a state of India (like Bihar, West Bengal etc). This yearly mela is beautifully woven with delicious food, music, dances, and games. If someone visits Faridabad during the month of February, and cannot make it for the Surajkund Mela, then that person will definitely miss something huge in his or her life.

The Mathura road is perfectly linked throughout Faridabad. Hotels on Mathura Road are a fine choice for a comfortable stay in Faridabad. They make the stay fantastic by providing the best of the rooms, services, and amenities. Once the stay is sorted, the trip definitely starts and ends up on a fantastic note.
