Facilities You Must Look Out For While Enrolling Your Child

by Akash Sharma Akash Sharma
School facilities play a great role in shaping the mindset of teachers as well as the students. After home, it is the school where students spend most of their time; hence it is a home away from home. While good curriculum and excellent teachers play a major role in contributing towards a child’s overall development, it is the secure and conductive environment which every parent looks out for to ensure their children are at a right place. A school with appropriate infrastructure hence is the right place to evolve your child into a responsible individual.

Moreover, it is important for every school to develop an environment which encourages learning and promotes physical and mental development of the child. Be it top schools in Delhi or elsewhere- infrastructure matters a lot. Let’s have a look at some of the amenities which every school must have-

Noise Cancellation and Acoustics

High noise levels can negatively impact the teachers as well as the students’ performance. In fact, it leads to stress and problem in concentration. This results in poor results and increased disturbance which can be quite troublesome for all. Hence, every school, especially the best ones must have acoustic glasses and noise-proof walls to ensure that there is a conductive environment for studies.

The Quality of Air

The outdoor air-quality in Delhi is already poor; compromising on indoor air-quality is something no parent would want. Poor air-quality can also be a reason for various ailments such as asthma. Schools with poor ventilation moreover usually are prone to virus, bacteria and allergen buildup which can make students sick and hence perform poorly during exams. Most of the schools in Delhi have air purifiers and proper ventilation which every parent must look out for.

Classroom Size, Libraries And Playgrounds

The size of the classrooms also plays an important role while choosing the best school for your child. Overcrowded classrooms are known to develop, feelings of aggression and low engagement in students. Moreover, the less the number of students, the more personalized attention there is. It is for this reason that best schools have a tendency of dividing the classes into sections when the number of students exceeds a certain limit.

A library with good books promoting reading habits in students is necessary. A good library also helps significantly during exams and gives students, a scope to go beyond the regular curriculum.

Co-curricular activities are extremely important to maintain a balance between sports and academics. Hence a playground with multiple sports equipment such as basketball, volley ball, badminton, tennis etc. is important to develop a spirit of sportsmanship in students.
