Everything You Need to Know About Full Body Tanning

by Marc T. Romero Business Consultant, Marketing
You may want to get a tan simply because you love it or you want to try out something new. It's not a bad idea to get that tan you have been dreaming about but if you want to rock it, it must be done right. Whether you are getting a natural tan or using a spray tan you should take note of the following.

Consistently exfoliate your skin

You need to scrub off dead skin before you tan your skin. This will help you to have an even skin for the tan to adhere to. You will need to use a good scrub to exfoliate to get the right results. You should use an exfoliating mitt instead of sugar scrubs. Sugar scrubs contain oils that coat the skin and this causes the tan to run off the skin.

Shave at least 12 hours before you get the tan

Yes, it is always a good idea to shave your skin before getting a tan, however, it is not good to shave right before you get a tan. Shaving is a mild exfoliation process that can expose new cells. Tanning sprays can react with new sensitive cells to cause redness of the skin and discomfort.

Do not apply lotion

To get great good results for your full body tanning, do not apply lotion on your skin before getting the tan. Some people will advise you to moisturize your skin before tanning your skin. It is, however, not the best since a lot of moisture on the skin will take away the glow and cause the tan to fade faster. If you must moisturize your skin, make sure that you use a lightweight lotion.

Get a full body tanning in well ventilate salons

The location matters when you are getting a tan. Inhaling spray tan products are not good for your health. It will be better for you to get your tan in a place that is well ventilated to ensure that the spray is easily dispelled so that you do not risk inhaling a lot of it. You should probably check out a couple of salons before settling on one.

Chlorine will bleach your tan

You can enjoy a brief time in the pool without a problem. Unfortunately, when you spend a lot of time in a chlorinated pool, you will not come out with the same glow with which you entered the pool. Chlorine is a kind of bleach that will take the tan off. When you get a tan, you do not have the luxury of spending hours on end in a pool. It is recommended that you limit the time you spend in a pool.

You cannot maintain a tan

You should also note that you cannot get another tan on an old one with the intention of making it look better. When you do that you will get an uneven tan since the parts of your body will have a deeper tan than other parts. Use your tan for about a week and a half, take it off and then get a new tan if you want. Find out more.
