Everyone Loves Flushable Wipes

by Peggy Lane Marketing

Flushable wipes offer a natural, healthier alternative to toilet tissue. Most have a herbal formula such as aloe vera and tea tree oil, which soothes and protects against skin irritation. Surprisingly they are made of wood pulp, which makes them a ‘greener’ alternative as they’re biodegradable and wood is a naturally sustainable resource.

Baby wipes represent the largest portion of sales, although facial and deodorant wipes are becoming more and more popular. They are particularly useful for travellers on long distance journeys. With consumers generally being pressed for time when rushing between work and picking children up from school or activities, flushable wipes make it possible to perform tasks in less time which means the switch over to this product has become more apparent in recent years.

If you have young children these wipes are particularly useful as they come in a small container which can be easily transported along with all the other essentials when travelling. Also they offer a more convenient method of keeping clean.

Flushability is an important aspect which developers are constantly striving to improve without adding to the cost of the end product. This is a controversial issue, but sensible use of flushable wipes is important in order to ensure that the sewage systems do not become over loaded.

Nonwoven wipes have been made from either spunlace or airlaid technology. Airlaid wipes remain strong in areas where toughness is important. However, spunlace wipes are becoming the preferred choice in many instances where advancement in manufacturing processes offer decorative options and consistent quality.

There are now many potential areas for wipes to be used, so research into the development of flushable wipes is ongoing.Consumers are eager to purchase products that save them time which means manufacturers are constantly developing new and better products
