Effective Video Editing Tools for Business

by Alex O. Photographer

Video has become a king of content formats. Most consumers are on the go or want to do numerous tasks at once so the text format does not work in both cases. Video, on the other side, can be either watched or listened to.

As a result, videos will make up 82% of traffic by 2022 and 72% of customers would rather watch a video to learn about the new product.

So video marketing seems here to stay. And what do you need for a good picture? A great editing tool. Here are effective tools you can use for your next business goal.

Adobe Premiere is a golden standard of video editing. It is one of the professional tools that can help you achieve whatever task you have: an ad, a YouTube video, a movie, a social media promo, etc. It supports 4K, 8K, and VR formats, and has a huge variety of features from simple trimming to the interpret footage and audio assigning option. If you are editing professionally, you will have to go through some training to get familiar with all the tools.

However, if you want to edit a video once a year, it might not be the best idea to use Premiere. The subscription is quite costly (however, justified considering all the features) and the onboarding is a lengthy process.

#2 CyberLink

CyberLink is another classic in video editing. It still has lots of cool features like 360-degree video editing, stabilizers, reverse timeline order, and others. At the same time, it is easier than Adobe since it has fewer professional-only tools.

This software is a great choice for those who make videos quite often and want them to look nice but do not need all the overwhelming feature set of Adobe. It is a middle ground between all-pro and newbie video editing tools. The costs are somewhere in the middle as well.

#3 OpenShot

OpenShot is a free tool for beginner editors. It is really easy to pick up due to its drag-and-drop functionality and minimalistic and intuitive interface. You can create simple animations, work on video effects and sound, add subtitles, resize, scale, etc.

It may be useful for small businesses that have to create videos themselves. A limited number of features and many educational short videos are good for onboarding and free pricing is a great reason to give it a go.

#4 DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve is a fully professional editing tool that combines video editing, motion graphics, color coding, and audio production in one tool. This is its uniqueness since other editing software that we mentioned does not have this combination and requires different software. You can also enjoy all the formats, color corrections, facial recognition, striking transitions, motion tracking, etc.

You can either buy the software or get a free version. The latter is considered to be the most powerful free professional editing tool and works perfectly even for professionals. The license gives you even more features that you can use even for a Hollywood-level movie.

#5 Lightworks

Lightworks is another popular name among video editors. Such movies as Pulp Fiction, Jerry Maguire, and The Wolf of Wall Street were edited with this exact software. The hype is understandable: its features include audio effect support, chroma keys, fusion compositor, stabilization, etc. The drag-and-drop interface is quite a nice touch as well.

The tool offers free and paid options. However, if you want to make a video in more than 720p, you will have to pay. It takes some time to discover and onboard the software but it offers promising results.

#6 iMovie

This one is a free standard tool for all Mac users but it still has a good feature set (including 4K format support) and allows you to create nice videos. You do not need much effort to learn iMovie since the interface design is pretty minimalistic and intuitive. In just a few minutes, you will be able to work on background noises and music, add special effects, add text, stabilize the video, or crop it.

iMovie is a really easy tool that can make videos look professional. However, it is a better fit for small and some middle-sized businesses and is never a good option for the enterprise level.

#7 VideoPad

VideoPad is a free editing software famous for its ease of use with social media: you can quickly export your new creation anywhere. The tool allows you to stabilize videos, add transitional effects and filters, add audio from an impressive sound library, and even edit 360-degree videos. The interface is very calm and easy to navigate.

At the same time, if you want to find more advanced editing tools, you will have to consider buying them. Otherwise, it will still work only as a tool for social media marketing.

#8 Corel VideoStudio Ultimate

Corel VideoStudio Ultimate is a powerful tool for Windows users that is aimed at beginners and intermediate-level professionals. It supports multi-cam and 360° editing, motion tracking, time remapping, video masking, audio ducking, professional color tools, etc.

It is quite easy to get started due to the clean interface and visible basic tools but you can dive deeper into advanced features as well. There is a range of projects you can complete with this editing tool but it is still leaning more towards small and intermediate businesses.

Final Thoughts

The market offers a variety of choices for all kinds of businesses and editors with any background. You can find free and paid solutions and tools suited for social media and real movies. There is nothing stopping you from diving deep into video marketing, just give it a go!
