Dungeons & Dragons: How to Multiclass as A Ranger

by Emma Justin SEO Excutive

Dungeons & Dragons are one of the most addictive actions/fantasy games, where players can create heroes more and make them powerful. Every hero belongs to a unique class, but their ability and potential grow when they connect multiclass. Rangers are the finest trackers, but to gain more abilities, players have to rely on multiclass. Every class possesses a separate ability, but multiclass provides benefits to every class. So here is the guide to multiclass as a ranger.

Artificer

Artificers can prepare those spells that have spell slots. They also have plenty of utility spells that represent the nature of the Ranger. Even though they are low in intelligence, they can still prepare some valuable ritual spells without utilizing the spell slots.

Barbarian

As a Ranger, if you are working on your strength, barbarian level one can be valuable for you. Barbarians have Rage ability, but rangers are good at combat because of the hunter’s mark, so while using the rage ability, it’s difficult to focus on spells. On the other hand, there’s no need to invest in more than one barbarian level.

Bard

The utility strikers of Rangers like sneaking, single-shot damage, spell utility, and skill are major slots. When the Bard level arrives, players obtain more impactful help through boosted spell slots. Bard works as a major help, and his Bardic Inspiration and the Song of Rest are perfect for a party.

Cleric

You can get the Cleric spell if you have the spell slots. Similar to the artificers, you can perform some ritual spells to boost utility. Rangers are strong, and Divine Domains are useful for them according to their build. Knowledge Domain of level 1 or 2 is valuable for skill-based rangers. War Domain of level 1 or 2 is valuable for the damage rangers. Forge Domain and Light Domain are both useful for anyone.

Druid

Druids can also access the spells if they have the slots. Some utility spells and ritual spells overlap with the ranger spells. Druids also have unique spells that are valuable for combat. It changes the combat to turn the match completely. Accessing the Wild Shape ability is cool, there’s no use of it until you reach level 8.

Fighter

Two levels of Fighter works a lot for a ranger. Rangers who want to perform great in battle, the second fighting pattern helps a lot. On 2nd Level, Action Surge ability helps rangers a lot. It allows the players to use the hunter’s mark even more. If you invest more in the Fighter level, “Champion” will work fine with a two-weapon fighting Ranger, “Arcane Archer” for the ranged Rangers and the “Battle Master” for any random Ranger.

Monk

The early level of Monk abilities concentrated on combat styles. Rangers don’t use Monk’s combat styles, and combat utilities are not beneficial for them.

Paladin

Rangers damage their opponents through multiple turns, but Paladins damage their opponents at once. Ranger and Paladin’s connection puts extreme damage on the opponent, and they only rely on four different abilities. Paladin’s first level only gives a basic level of utility spells, but level two offers a spell list of Paladin and Divine Smite. Level three of Paladin offers Sacred Oath that works well with some specific Rangers.

Rogue

Rogue and Rangers both handiness-based martial classes. They work together, and most of the time, they do their task pretty well. Players who use Ranger to serve as a skilled monkey of the party, Expertise is perfect for them. Rogue also obtains the Expertise, but at level one. If you wish to enhance Rogue’s level, just move to level three and get “Scout Archetype.” It will offer the ability to work as a superhuman survivalist and mobile archer with a tracker.

Sorcerer

As mentioned above, most of the spells of Rangers are utility spells. The only drawback of Sorcerer is that it does not provide a lot of advantages from metamagic. But, they have a lot of abilities in their favor at level 1.

Warlock

Warlock also obtains a subclass on level 1. Fiend works incredibly well with Ranger’s abilities and Hunter’s Mark. It helps the players to focus on the large group of enemies. Hexblade is an amazing ability that is perfectly synchronized with two-weapons Rangers. The second level of Warlock will allow you to pick invocations that are valuable for the Rangers who wish to concentrate on utility.

Wizard

Wizard will not give you plenty of abilities, but unless you have a few spells of level 1, there is nothing much you’ll obtain from this multiclass. Wizards are perfect for ritual casting, but if you are not ready to hunt down the spellbook’s ritual spells, this multiclass will not help you a lot.

Conclusion

Every character and class offer the player a unique experience. The ability of fishing and casting spells is just incredible. The spells of every character represent the class of the character. It takes time to master the abilities of every character, but the procedure is very entertaining.
