Before Diwali we also whitewash to our house and offices and decorated home, office, outdoor with beautiful Diwali lights. We can decorate our house with different kinds of Diwali lights, like rice lights, led strips etc.

Like other features of Hinduism—the world’s most beloved religion—the roots of Diwali are ancient. And, like Hinduism, the ritual of Diwali is richly varied amongst the faith 800 million followers. It's possible, but that the festival has its roots in ancient  South Asian summer festivals. For Indian, Diwali is one of the most important weekends of the year and is celebrated by relatives together in their apartments.

Diwali (a reduction of the Sanskrit 'Deepavali' which translates into 'row of lights') covers the light of small clay lamps filled with oil to mean the victory of good over evil. Those lanterns are kept on throughout the night in order to secure Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of pleasure, feels grateful. Hindus think that she walks the ground during the celebration and enters those businesses that are clear, clean, and shiny—bringing with her great luck.

Fireworks are lit in order to drive apart evil lives and many families draw a colourful Rangoli, a beautiful pattern made in rice powder, at the opening of their home. Colleagues, relatives, and next-door-neighbour visit to share in meals and festivities, as well as small treats such as khil (rice puffs) and Patashe (sugar disks).
Puja, the worship of gods, takes place at home and temples with prayers and other presents.

Diwali is an official holiday in India, Nepal, Srilanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Singapore and Fiji. But, the largest Diwali celebration outside of India takes place in Leicester, England’s Golden Mile sector.
