Different Types Of Hair Colouring Techniques

  • The Baby lights or Baby Blonde Highlights: In this technique of hair coloring, the baby lights are placed around the hairline and on the parting to offer a subtle highlight that offers sun-kissed highlights to your hair. In this technique, very small sections are taken and highlighted them.

  • Balayage: This highlighting technique includes a painting of every strand of hair so as to create a stunning balayage. This is a French term which means sweeping or scanning. This hair color offers a natural-looking effect which looks very pretty. The hair colorist will paint bleach or hair color on the surface of the head. There is no requirement of saturating an entire section with hair dye.

  • Ombre & Sombre: This is the hair color technique that offers a sun-kissed color which is dark at the roots and light on the tips. Ombre is an end look and it is different from Balayage. The colorist can use the balayage technique to get an ombre. Sombre is the softer sister of ombre. In this method, the hair at the roots and the hair at the end have lower contrast. It offers a more seamless blend.

  • Lowlights & Highlights: The lowlights are the opposite of highlights. Lowlights include the darker pieces of hair which are reserved for the underneath layers of the hair and hair around the neck. Highlights, on the other hand, features the sections of hair that are dyed in a lighter tone than your natural shade. Highlights are achieved by two techniques; foil highlighting and Balayage.

  • Bronde: The bronde is neither blonde nor brunette but a mix of both. In this coloring, the hair will look from dark blonde to light brown color. Also, a layer of highlights is also added.

  • Fluid Hair Painting: The technique of fluid hair painting includes a painting of the hair surface which is similar to Balayage.
