Developing a Great Running Routine

by Mohit J. White Hat Link Building Services
Having a great running routine is key to staying motivated and getting better. Along with having support from places like a virtual running club and even online coaching, the right routine helps you focus. A good routine will consider things like where you want to run, what your short term and long term goals are, your fitness and skill level, what you love about running when your days off need to be, whether you have access to hills, tracks, treadmills and such, whether you run indoors or out and the climate of where you run. Here are some tips on where to look for advice on your running routine.

Where can you find a good routine?

There are a number of ways you can find and adjust a running routine to suit you best. These places include;
• Local or online coach
• Instructional videos
• An online running club
• Magazines
• Blogs
• Online articles
• Books and ebooks
• Social media
• DVDs
• Local gym trainers and group training programs

It is okay to take a routine and make adjustments so it fits you better. The best routine should be specific to your needs. But you may have to figure that out by trying a few before you get the best match.

Questions to ask fellow runners

To find those routines there are different questions you can ask of different people and groups. For example, if you have a running friend and they seem to be doing especially well you could ask them if there are any books, articles or such they think you should read to get better guidance for having a great routine? Do they have favourite blogs they follow that also have advice on running routines? Have they attended any events on running that have really helped them get to this position? What DVDs do they suggest that have had an impact on their running?

If you know someone who speaks a lot about their running, people in a virtual running club, or a real-life one, or someone who goes around giving talks on running you could ask what they recommend to their audiences about their routine? What advice do you put in your written articles and blog posts that resonate best with your readers? What was the one thing you wanted to say in your book about a running routine?

Conclusion

As you start investigating and asking questions at your online running club, your gym, of your coach, or fellow runners, you will find that there are a large number of possibilities when it comes to routines. A mother of young children will need a different kind of routine to an athlete training for a marathon.

An experienced and fit runner will again need something different from someone just starting who is also doing it for fitness and weight loss reasons. There is no single answer or one right way to do this. Get creative and be flexible. Look at what works and what does not and discard things until you have something just right.
