BTMA Corn Oil Processing Introduction.

by BTMA oil press manufacturer website onwer

Processing corn oil is among the most sought-after seed process in oil mills. Plants for seed processing can be modified to be corn oil plant or peanut oil plant and sunflower oil plant and so on. With the right extraction equipment corn can be transformed into valuable products, such as corn meal and corn oil.

Corn oil processing typically involves cracking corn grains that have an oil content of 3 to 30% in weight. Then, you extract corn oil from the broken corn grain. The corn oil is used to make nutritiously enhanced edible oils, cooking oils, greases biodiesel, fuels cosmetics, oil-based, or products that contain oil. The corn meal extracted can be used to make improved animal feed as snack food, blends of foods, cosmetics and even fermented broth additions.

Oil from corn is then filtered and degummed. Steam is introduced at a rate of no more that 3 per cent of oil. The steam absorbs by the lecithin and other gums, which makes them heavy enough to remove them by centrifugation. In alkali degumming the sodium hydroxide solution is heated and is utilized to dissolve the gums, and neutralize free fatty acids. The process is then which is followed by "washing" the oil with hot water to wash away any soap that is formed during the process. The alkali by-products can be sold in the form of soap stocks.

The corn oil has been "bleached" with clay that is "activated" with acid wash to eliminate any metals that are that are native to the clay. In the process, the clay absorbs colors, soap and metal ions that are dissolved in the oil of corn. The clay is removed from the oil through the process of filtration. In the event that a partial hydrogenated substance like margarine or shortening, are being produced at this stage during the process, this heated gas is then exposed under pressure to hydrogen gas. The oil is then refrigerated to make wax crystals, which is then removed using filtering. Continuous stream steam treatment eliminates the smell of the oil in a distillation mill by transferring any remaining impurities off from the upper part of the tower by the rising steam, as the oil that has been distilled is taken away by the base.
