Combine Machine Overview

by FIELD KING Agriculture Machine, Farm Implements Machinery Man

The combine machine or combine harvester is an essential and compact machine designed for productive harvesting of mass volumes of grain. Advanced combines can cut a swath through a field more than 40 feet broad.

The name comes from merging three basic harvest functions – reaping, threshing and winnowing. Crops like soybeans, wheat, oats, rye, flax and sunflowers can all be collected with a head meant for that special grain.

Before Hiram Moore patented the first U.S. combine machine in 1935, early versions were horse-drawn and some models were pulled by a tractor. In 20th century introduction of the self-propelled combine changes the whole picture.

The Improvements in Combine Harvester

Safe and productive grain collection depends on picking the right combine harvester for the job. Combine harvester manufacturers, including John Deere, Fieldking, Case IH, Claas and New Holland continue to develop technology and configuration to meet producers’ needs.

New models of combine harvester offer big grain tanks such as 485-bushels with dumping speeds of 6 bushels per second. New technologies and apps allow farmers to remotely control combine machine execution.

The self-propelled combine machine was invented to use less fuel than those pulled behind a tractor, and new types of harvesters continue that trend, with innovations that advance traction, driver acknowledgement, and in some circumstances offer a special gear for highway travel.

Combine Harvester Importance on Field

Agricultural machinery combine get all the harvesting work done in a single go that makes it more economical and beneficial for the producers. A combine machine helps decrease in loss and gain in money. Improved thrashing and separating system there is practically no loss more grains off the field and earn more.
