Description:

Carrot is scientifically known as Daucus carota, belongs to Apiaceae family. Carrot is biennial plant and it is originated in Egypt, India and France, Europe & Southwestern Asia, commonly grows in spring and summer, usually orange in colour with hairy leaves and umbels of white lacy flowers and purple centers. It is root vegetable that grows a rosette of leaves. It is root vegetable and its color usually orange in colour, its varieties also exist such as purple, black, red, white and yellow. Carrot seed has so many medicinal and skin benefits.

Extraction:

Carrot seed oil is extracted from the dried seeds of Daucus carota through steam distillation and also by dried plant itself.

Properties:

Carrot seed oil is yellowish to pale orange-brown in color and its aroma is strong fresh, earthy, middle sweet and pungent scent with wood hearty note, it has viscous consistency.

Composition:

Carrot seed oil contains various constituent such as α-pinene, camphene, β-pinene, myrcene, sabinene, γ-terpinene, limonene, β-bisabolene, geranyl acetate and caratol and other nutrients as well like carotene and Vitamin-A.
