Bubble tea - an unusual drink, easy to prepare

by Erik Popescu Manager

Have you noticed passers-by with a strange drink with many, many balls at the bottom? That is bubble tea! In recent years, the popularity of this drink has increased dramatically around the world. What is the reason for such a stunning success?

Bubble tea appeared 40 years ago in Taiwan. Originally, its recipe looked like this: a mixture of hot black tea, small balls of tapioca, condensed milk, honey and syrup. In the 1990s, this drink became popular in California and conquered the whole of America. In recent years, bubble tea has become very popular in Europe, especially in Romania. Every year the geography of distribution of this bubble drink expanded, and finally it appeared in the menu of McDonalds.

In addition to its unusual appearance, tapioca has useful properties - it contains vitamins, potassium, calcium, iron and other elements.

These balls, by the way, are drunk together with the cocktail through a wide straw.

Fruit syrups and various additives - tapioca, agar jelly, coconut pieces - are added to boba tea. Also one of the most popular toppings for bubble tee are popping boba - bursting balls of seaweed with natural juice inside.

Surely you have already decided to visit the nearest shopping center to try this unusual drink there. Don't rush: you can also make it at home.

Ingredients (for 2 servings):

Tapioca balls - 50 g

Coconut sugar - 2-5 tbsp.

Black tea leaf - 2 tsp.

Milk - 500 ml

Vanilla paste or sugar with natural vanilla - 1-2 tsp.

You can experiment endlessly with tea flavors: add different syrups, toppings, take different teas as a basis.
