Beard graft recovery: everything you need to know

by TM Maria Be a king in your own kingdom

Beard graft recovery is usually quite fast. Thanks to the advances in the latest hair transplant techniques, it is an aesthetic surgery in which there are usually no rejection problems or side effects, and the effects of the operation itself disappear quickly, allowing a return to normal life in a Record time.

Currently, in most cases, the beard and mustache hair graft is carried out with the FUE technique, a system by which the patient's own follicles are extracted, which are then transplanted to areas with hair problems. This system is not as invasive as others and allows the patient to return home after the sessions and continue with their usual activities. Here you can get more tips for beard transplant in Turkey.

The final results take a little longer and are perfectly visible one year after the intervention. But let's review the stages step by step ...

Phases of beard graft recovery

The recovery process after a  beard implant can be summarized in the following phases:

  • After four days

The first 4 days after the beard graft are the most annoying stage and in which one must pay more attention. Both the recipient and donor areas are more sensitive after the follicle extraction and placement process, and there is irritation, inflammation, and tightness. In this phase, certain recommendations must be followed when washing, sleeping and also being careful with the food we eat.

  • First two weeks

In this period of time the most immediate symptoms of a recent beard graft disappear. The scabs and skins that arose after the extraction and placement are disappearing and the discomfort is minor.

  • Two to three months later

It is when the patient's expectations rise that they begin to see tangible results. From that moment, it is when the implanted follicles take hold in their new location and after three or three and a half months is when hair growth can begin to be seen.

  • From the fourth month

The hair resulting from the beard graft begins to grow more generally. Although the hair is still weak, its thickness, texture and size will gradually increase.

  • Between eight months and one year later

After this period from the intervention is when the effects of the beard hair transplant are total. It is estimated that by 8 months, 80 percent of the hair grafted onto the beard grows, and at one year.

How does the beard hair grow after the hair implant?

The behavior of grafted hair is like normal hair, following the usual growth phases. In principle, the transplanted hair maintains the characteristics of the area from which it was extracted and, therefore, its growth rate,   which is slower on the head than in the facial area. But the truth is that some of the latest studies testify that as time passes, the new hair increasingly resembles that of the other hairs in the implant area. Curious, right?

Are there scars on the face?

They are tiny and barely noticeable, especially under beard hair. The surgeon makes small incisions with a 0.8mm blade and inserts each hair at the natural angle of hair growth so that they do not stick out straight. These hairs will fall out and come out again with the natural hair cycle, as explained in the phases above. And later…? The beard can be shaved, trimmed, etc. as if it were your natural beard.

If you put yourself in good hands for the beard implant, in those of a good hair graft specialist in Turkey, no one will notice that you have undergone this intervention.
