An Insight on some key sexual problems in males
by John Cina seoFor years,
men have thought that sexual problems are normal as one grows older. Luckily,
this myth has been undermined by modern medicine and changing attitudes. As men
and their healthcare providers become better at talking about sexual issues and
new treatments, there is no reason why men can be sexually active well into and
beyond the 70s. If you are someone having Male Infertility problem in Bhopal , you should
consult a reputed doctor.
Men's
sexual problems include:
● Inability
to acquire or retain an erection satisfactory to sex (also known as Erectile Dysfunction
or ED)
● Lack of
sexual interest (diminished libido)
● Premature
Ejaculation
● Delayed
or inhibited ejaculation
● Penile
Curvature
Limited
blood flow or ED can be caused by anything which limits blood flow to the
penis. Cigarette smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, and normal aging are
the most common conditions that limit blood flow. Many common medicines, such
as antihypertensive medicines, may also interfere with the function of male
sex. Reduced blood circulation in the penile arteries can occur until blood
circulation in other vital organs such as the heart is affected. For all other
cardio-vascular risk factors, therefore, men with ED should be evaluated.
Causes of
ED: A disease such as diabetes, spinal cord injury or prostate surgery that can
damage the nerves of the penis may be the cause of ED.
Medicines:
Many medicines that affect the nervous system, and some that cause lower
testosterone levels may lead to ED. It can also be produced by opioids taken
for chronic pain.
Psychological
reasons — Depression, anxiety about performance and focus failure are common
causes of psychogenic ED.
Depression–loss
of sexual activity and libido are frequent symptoms of depression. ED is a
deprivation in itself for a lot of men. A decrease of sexual function as a
consequence of aging is faced by many men. They don't talk to their health care
provider because of shame or embarrassment. This is regrettable, as the
cause(s) of sexual problems are often found and numerous options for treating
ED are available.
Performance
anxiety–performance anxiety can occur in men who have erectile dysfunction
problem. The focus of sexual activity shifts from a sensual to anxious
experience. The inability to acquire and maintain an erection is the focus of
the sexual experience during later attempts to sex.
Diagnosis—
A healthcare provider will examine the sexual history, conduct a physical exam,
and have blood tests to find out if conditions such as diabetes or low levels
of testosterone contribute to sexual problems to determine the cause of the
dysfunction. More specific tests, including evaluation of penile blood flow
with ultrasound, may provide useful information during a pharmacologically
induced erection.
Sexual
history— the patient will be asked personal questions about his or her sexual
life to help determine the cause of the condition. It is important for the
patient to honestly answer the questions and provide the most of the details.
Many
problems like Night Fall problem, are also included in the Male’s
sexual illness.
