Adobe Will Deliver a Free Browser-Based Photoshop

by Alicia Brown Application Developer

Adobe has plans to release a version of its renowned photo-editing application Photoshop that is optimized just for use on the web. This new freemium version is presently being tested by the firm with customers in Canada; however, the company intends to make it accessible to a larger audience in the near future.

For the time being, residents of Canada who sign up for an Adobe account have access to the web-based only version of Photoshop that is completely free.

We have contacted Adobe to inquire as to when it intends to make the tool accessible to people all around the globe, and we will provide an update as soon as we hear back from them.

Free-Version Photoshop on Browser

Photoshop has been the gold standard in the field of picture editing for a very long time, but the monthly licensing charge prevents the majority of people from using it. In the meanwhile, free or freemium photo-editing software such as Pixlr, Canva, and Photopea have expanded their user bases to include casual users and have also become more sophisticated in the services that they provide.

Adobe is making some of its most fundamental picture editing tools freely accessible online in attempt to attract customers who aren't typically a part of its target demographic. According to the android file transfer in reports, Adobe has high hopes that some users of its freemium version of Photoshop will upgrade to become paying subscribers. This is especially true given that the company intends to offer more advanced features on the web-only version of Photoshop that will be locked behind a paywall unless the user purchases a subscription.

If you find that this sounds vaguely familiar, it's because Adobe released a web-only version of Photoshop and Illustrator for subscribers back in the fall of last year. The functionality of these versions was limited to basic editing and the sharing of comments among those working together on projects, though.

This new and free online version of Photoshop greatly improves the number of tools that are accessible to users, enables users to begin new projects, and provides users with access to more powerful tools for changing color and making edits.
