Sikkim, the vivacious land

“Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and enjoy the journey.” – Babs Hoffman

A journey is marked by the experiences one collects, not the miles traveled to get there. Sikkim is the mystical land of icy glaciers, alpine meadows, thousands of varieties of wildflowers like Orchids of Sikkim and the Himalayan orchid species, Rhododendrons of Sikkim, azaleas and landscaping plants like Hemerocallis (Day Lilies), Bromeliads, bamboos, ferns etc.

Sikkim is the second smallest state in the Indian Territory and as they say, ‘small things come in big packages’ this place is indeed dotted and packed with numerous places to adore the beauty and serenity of nature. It is a state in northeast India, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. Camouflaged by part of the Great Himalayas, the area has a histrionic landscape that includes India’s highest mountain, Kangchenjunga at 8,586m. Gangtok is the capital of the striking state and an established Buddhist pilgrimage site. The aloofness of the state and the fact that permits are required to enter the state, Sikkim isn't the most accessible area to visit in India. However, it certainly is one of the most lively and robust places to visit.
