  1. Open QuickBooks Program 
  2. Go to Expenses menu and choose Vendors
  3. Click on Prepare 1099s
  4. Click on Let's get started
  5. Follow the steps and prepare 1099s

Set Up Vendor 

  1. Go to Menu Bar then click on Vendors
  2. Click on Vendor Center and click on the independent contractor for whom you want to create a 1099 form 
  3. Click Edit
  4. Click on the Address Info tab then next on Additional Info Tab
  5. Click on the Vendor Eligible for 1099 box. Provide the contractor's tax ID number
  6. Click the OK button to finish 

File Your 1099s

  1. Open QuickBooks and Go to Workers 
  2. Click on Contractors
  3. Now Click on Prepare 1099s
  4. Hit Let’s get started button
  5. Check the details including company name and address, and your tax ID  
  6. Mark all of the boxes and choose the type of payments
  7. Click on Next 
  8. Check Vendor list and click on email address then click Next 
  9. Review the Payment totals 
  10. Click on Finish Preparing 1099s
  11. Open 1099 E-file service and file your 1099s
