8 Things to Do Online If You’re Bored Tonight

by samantha Smith guideline foe yoga extender

The internet is a wonderous place. Since the early days of its invention, it has been virtually impossible to be bored – or at least we think so. There is so much to do that when you log on there is no way you can be at a loose end.

So, if you have a quiet evening ahead of you and are ready to embark on a voyage of digital discovery, here’s a list of some of the best ways to spend time surfing on the internet. Below are eight different things you can do online right now to alleviate boredom.

Go on a Virtual Haunted House Tour

This is a great choice for this time of year (Halloween is just around the corner as we type). As the nights get darker and the season gets spookier, what could be more fun than touring a haunted house from the comfort of your sofa? You get all the jumps and scares without having to get up!

Haunted house tours vary online. Some are real houses where you can book into a virtual tour and others are virtual houses that can be accessed at any time.

Try an Online Casino

Whether you want to play poker or have a go on the no wagering slots, there are a ton of online casino sites you can log onto right now. Online casinos offer a huge variety of different games to try out, so whatever you fancy, you should be able to find it there!

Learn a New Language

Learning a language is a pretty productive way to spend your evening and the internet makes it super easy! Whether its French, Spanish, Klingon, or German, we can guarantee there’s a YouTube video on it.

Not only is learning a language great for general life purposes, it’s also something you can add to your CV.

Solve Unsolved Crime

Unsolved crime is such a huge trend at the moment that it will take you seconds to find a case that sparks your interest. While we don’t think you can solve the case by scouring the Wikipedia page, you could probably spend hours coming up with your own theories online!

Many unsolved crimes also have dedicated forums on sites like Reddit. If you’re really intrigued, you could even join in.

Watch a Film

Probably an obvious thing to do if you’re bored but there is nothing wrong with a good old Netflix film. At the start of the century, it was inconceivable to have the number of films and TV series at our fingertips as we do now, so why not take advantage of whatever streaming platform you’ve got.

Attend an Online Gig

Since the pandemic, online gigs have been growing in popularity. Not only did it really help the music industry during lockdown, but it has also made music so much more accessible. If you’re favourite artist isn’t playing anything at the moment, you could try searching old gigs they have played, too.

And if music isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other ways you can engross yourself in the arts from your sofa. Theatre also went online during the pandemic, which means you can find many of your favourite plays and musicals online too.

Correct Wikipedia Entries

If you’re really bored, and really pedantic, you could while away the hours correcting Wikipedia entries. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it sure does pass the time.

Read a Book

Grown-ups are always telling kids to get off their phones and read a book, but little do they know they’re actually reading a book on their phones. Or some of them are, at least.

While you’re unlikely to find new books online for free, many classics can be found online for free as they are now in the public domain. So, if you’ve always wanted to read a Dickens novel, you can find it online now!
