5 Ways to Fix the Popping and Spitting of An Atomizer

by Aanya Alberto A geeky girl and Vape Enthusiast

Vapers often get frustrated with the popping and spitting of the atomizers that they use. In several cases, vapers swallow e-liquids. Further, while using the drip tank atomizer, due to popping and spitting, even vapers burn their tongue too. However, in all the sense, you will miss the vapor and flavors. However, it is not tough to avoid popping and spitting. The current post is all about the ways to stop these issues.

Too Much Low Wattage

If you are using a sub-ohm device, probably, you have a tank with open airflow. If you have too much low wattage setting, it will take a long for the coil to reach the temperature to make the liquid-vapor. If the e-liquid will enter the chamber before the coil gets heated, there is a possibility that your coil will be flooded.

Open Airflow Setting

Several vapers prefer cool vape. Hence, for a cool vape, apart from setting the low wattage, often keep the airflow setting open too much. If you want to prevent the device from popping and spitting, you must be careful about the airflow. However, you need to reduce the airflow setting to stop the e-liquid from getting into the coil. It is better not to get a hard puff. The air pressure should work for you.

A Wet or Flooded Atomizer

A vaper using the drip tank atomizer always remains in control of how much liquid will reach the coil. While dripping the liquid into the atomizer, one must be careful about not drowning the coil in it, or the device will spit. However, if the atomizer is having a wide drip trip or have an open chamber, there is less chance that you will get a spit in the mouth. However, while wicking the coil, you must trim the sides.

VG/PG Ratio

Are you using an e-liquid consist of too much PG in a sub-ohm tank? However, in such a case, you require a different VG/PG ratio. VG or Vegetable Glycerin is thick compared to the PG or Propylene glycol. Further, PG vaporizes quickly compared to the VG. Hence, while using an atomizer, your e-liquid must consist of a higher VG ratio. The thick consistency of the e-liquid will protect your vape device.

Twisted Coil

One of the common reasons behind the popping and spitting is the twisted coil. In case of using a drip tank atomizer with twisted coils or Clapton coils, you may face occasional spitting. In the case of the twisted coils, the wires don’t get warm at a time. Hence, the chance of spitting increases. However, if you make your coils, try to keep it tight as much as possible.

Final Words

Over in this post, you have read the reasons behind popping and spitting in the coils. However, popping and spitting reduces the pleasure of vaping, so it is better to fix the issue as fast as possible.
