5 TRICKS TO MAKE THE BEST FIRST IMPRESSION ON YOUR EMPLOYEES

by Alen Parker Professional Guest Blogger

Job seekers from different professional backgrounds and at separate levels of their career have all kinds of thoughts before joining an organization. It could be anything ranging from a satisfactory remuneration, a suitable job location and flexible working hours, to a consistent career growth or a healthy work culture that may bother them. These are common challenges that you, as an employer are bound to face before a prospective applicant converts into your employee. Wondering how to make the candidates fall in love at first sight with your organization? Here’s a list of 5 smart ways that will not only draw attention, but also make you look like a better option in the candidates’ eyes:

Treatment and Hospitality

This should be your first and foremost area of focus. You are always judged by how warmly you welcome the applicants and how comfortable you make them feel. Every single person entering your door should be greeted with the same enthusiasm and during the test/ interview processes, the basic amenities like water and restroom should be taken care of.

State of the Art Facilities

For somebody who is willing to work with your organization, it is highly critical to observe the facilities that you provide. Be it constant electricity supply, cleanliness of the premises or functional condition of the equipment and machines, everything should be up to the mark! Once the candidates are disappointed due to lack of any of these facilities, even if they are not selected, you would never want to spread bad word about your own organization. It doesn’t matter if you are a SME, organizing a smooth recruitment drive is not that big a deal.

Fair Assessment

There are many companies that prioritize and favor candidates who come from references or other sources. This really demoralizes the ones who put their heart and soul in preparing for the interview and are more deserving. So, it is better to prepare similar tests for everyone from the same level and profile. Also, evaluation should also be fair and unbiased because you never know what gem you could lose before even having it.

Give Away Encouragement

You can always plan and afford goodies or small gifts for the ones who expressed interest in working with you and showed up for the same! As a token of gratitude, you can (not necessarily) give away a little memento at the end of the session. Even if any candidate is not hired by you, this is definitely going to be a highlight of their day.

Comprehensive Offer Letter Templates

Although this is not a part of the recruitment drive, but it certainly makes a huge impact in the longer run. After completing the required rounds of assessment, when a candidate is eagerly waiting for his/ her offer letter, it should have some matter! All the doubts that you think the applicants might be having, should be clarified from the job offer mail. The offer letter templates that you use must be all-inclusive and every important detail from salary break-up to company norms should be clearly explained. You would never want someone to work with you, who knows only half truth about you.
