3 Ways to Celebrate Your Success

by NOAH ST. JOHN business coach

“Way to go!”

“I’m proud of you!”

“Dude, you rock!”

Most of us are really good at celebrating other people’s success.

But how good are you at celebrating your OWN success?

Many of us beat ourselves up for what we didn’t do or the mistakes we’ve made.

We look at our ‘to-do list’ and say, “Oh brother, how am I ever going to get this all done?”

We look at our goals and think, “Oh man, there’s so much I haven’t done!”

These thoughts are just another form of head trash.

That’s why it’s time to start acknowledging the things you’ve DONE and celebrate your success.

Here are 3 ways to celebrate your success…

1. Focus on your strengths.

Most of us were trained to focus on our WEAKNESSES.

For example, let’s say that in school you brought home a report card with 3 A’s, 2 B’s and a D.

Which subject would get most attention?

Naturally, the D.

But I’ve observed that unconsciously successful people (who I call The Naturals of Success) focus on and celebrate what they’re GREAT at.

They’d look at that report card and say, “Damn, I’m good!”

2. Delegate your weaknesses.

People who are stuck or struggling are often trying to change who they are – trying to turn their weaknesses into Strengths.

But the Naturals do something different.

They focus on their Strengths and delegate or outsource their weaknesses.

For example, if you’re a great public speaker, find ways to do more speaking engagements.

But if you don’t enjoy designing web pages, that’s not the place you should be spending your time.

3. Focus on what you have, not what you lack.

Most of us beat ourselves up for what we did “wrong” and what we don’t have.

But if all you focus on is what you don’t have, guess what you’ll get more of?

Feelings of NOT having!

Keep a Gratitude Journal of the gifts of your life.

Every night, write down 5 things you did and 5 things you are grateful for.

This will train your mind to focus on what you have and stop focusing on what you lack.

Noah’s Note: Human beings are motivated by success, not failure. Celebrate your success!
