Another Idea For Your Little Pumpkin Halloween Costume

Another simple idea.

This is the one I wish I had gotten a patent on in 1974 when I made it for my daughter Barbie.

Get about 1 yard of orange flannel

Cut out pieces like the ribs in a pumpkin

Sew them together with a fairly large opening at the top and bottom and two openings for the arms to fit through fairly generous openings( you will understand why latter)

At the bottom sew in a pair of undies the right size just a few hand stiches here and there

For the top have them wear a hunter green long sleeve T shirt or body suit

For the legs Hunter Green tights

If you want a hat make it simple with orange flannel like a shower cap and a hand made either sewed or crocheted hunter green stem.

Have them get dressed . Crumble newspaper and put it through the openings working all around the child's body until you have a plump pumpkin with free movement.

Unfortuately I do not have any pictures of it we had a fire in 1979

I have pictures of Judy as Boy George before he cut his hair and one of Barbie as Cindy Lauper

of Paul's costume he made of a pack of Marlboro's before smoking was verboten. I told him he could wear them but could not smoke them.
