Tender Writing And Dealing With Pre Qualification Questionnaire

by Ricky Marshall
The whole process of tender management is not easy.  It demands that you know what you are doing and you have a writer that can present all the details of your company and your proposal to win a contract.  The process doesn't end once you go through the primary expression of interest stage.  You have to ensure you go meet the requirements so you do not waste your time.

The next step is the pre qualification questionnaire.  This is a process where your business is asked many questions in order to figure out if your business is also qualified to take on the contract.  You will be asked for your business history, information on your staff, your company's finances, your previous contracts or projects, and information on your regulations/policies.

So when it comes to the pre qualification questionnaire, you have to ensure that you have all the information ready for submission.  Make sure that everything is presented clearly so the other party could easily find what they're searching for and assess your company without wasting any time.

You need to be straightforward to your answers and adhere to the requests.  For instance, if there is a word count limit, follow the directions and keep it in the limit.  If they ask to submit the PQQ in a certain time period, ensure you are as professional as possible and send it in early.

You would know whether you have been selected for the next phase after submission.  If not, ask for feedback from the company to see what type of mistakes you have made and what companies are searching for.  This would aid you get a better idea of what is missing and will improve your future submissions.

The whole procedure of proposal writing can be very costly and time consuming.  This is not a job which anyone can do and several businesses hire tender writers to write proposals full time.  If you want to get contracts, you have to ensure that you have the skills of an experienced tender writer so that the proposal is written correctly and is presented efficiently.  An experienced writer would also know what information to include in the proposal.

The pre qualification questionnaire is the most important aspect of the tender process.  Writing a good PQQ would open the door to be one of the few companies to be considered for a business contract.  Make sure you get the help of a qualified writer or company if you're serious about securing tenders for your business.
